Thank you to The Book Club for hosting our best yet Bar Shorts in London.

Not only did we have two screens (two!!) but an amazing, curious and excitable crowd. So thanks for coming along you lovely people.

As always Chris compared the evening with his unique humor and warmth and we would like to say thanks to the brilliantly talented filmmakers that took part.

The creator of the brilliant This is Colin – Perrie Murphy took a mo to tell Bar Shorts about his influences and why a career as part doctor and part werewolf was never going to happen. What we liked best about the animator and model maker from London is his hand-made aesthetic and great story telling skills.

We’re rather pleased to have Dog Judo selected as part of this years Edinburgh Short Film Festival. The full line-up is yet to be announced so watch this space, all we know is that Dog Judo greatness will be screened on 15th June at the former Royal School of Veterinary - Summerhouse in Edinburgh.

Born and raised in Virginia Beach Jordan Bruner currently lives in Brooklyn, New York. Brought up by a painter and a carpenter, Jordan seemed destined for a future in fine arts. Lucky for the animation world, Jordan honed her skills in the medium during her studies at Viriginia Commonwealth University.  Mythology, travel, and surprising narratives make Jordan’s work unique, while her illustration style gives her commercials, music videos, and short films a strong sense of voice.  In amongst creating 2D and Stop Frame animations, Jordan finds time to paint, collect hologram paintings, and be part of a bowling team. We think her super powers may have something to do with her diet of fish tacos and guacamole.

Look what just arrived! Stephen Cheetham’s Friendly Faces! Tom ordered the Spots & Dorah, here he and Ayesha model the perspex creations, they’re simply wonderful.

An unfortunate accident while playing Chris Tarrant’s Who Wants to Be a Millionaire game in a pub animation  will feature on tonight’s Random Acts on Channel4. We had the pleasure of producing the superb animation by Bill Elliott.

We had a swell time at Band on the Wall who looked after us brilliantly. We’d like to also thank the amazingly talented filmmakers for letting us show their shorts. High fives go to,  Vicky Mather, Lucy Izzard, Monika Forsberg, Phil Mulloy, Tom Jenning, Asa Lucander, David Shrigley, Dog Judo and of course Bar Shorts co-curator and compare Chris Shepherd’s. We had the pleasure of showing some funny stings created by second year students of Salford University organised by Robert Shadbolt. All this was nicely blended with a DJ set from local legend Stanley Chow and plenty of beer!

Ooo! Check out Somerset House before Sunday to see a hell of a mixed show called Pick Me Up. All about graphic arts, print making, illustration and a handful of workshops there is plenty of talent on show. We could pick out favourites but we won’t, you’d have to pop in to see what is gracing our walls. One thing we will say is that the fantastic art on show is mighty affordable, so go see and go buy! 

A few shall have the misfortune of sharing an uncomfortably intimate moment with a medical professional. The rest of us shall rely on those few to tell the tale. In ‘Foxy’, a woman recalls the distressing repercussions of contracting Appendicitis in her teenage years.

Featuring the voice of the brilliant Alison Newman tune in to Channel4 tonight to see it on Random Acts. We had the pleasure of producing the superb animation by Stephanie Thandi Johnstone’s.
